Online learning from 29th June, 2020
From 29th June we are making a number of important changes to online learning. We are aware that only one quarter of children are currently in school and we want to ensure that children working at home are given then best provision possible.
We have invested a significant amount of money in new online learning programs. They are:
MyON, which will allow your child to read books online. You will receive a separate letter with further information about this.
Learning by Questions, which is a Maths and spelling/grammar program. Learning by Questions will be used by most children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6)
Mathseeds, which is a Maths program. This program will be used mainly for Key Stage 1 children (Years 1 and 2), as well as some children in Key Stage 2.
We are looking to make the best use of online programs that we already have, which include:
IXL, which is a Maths program for Years 1 to 6
Times Table Rockstars, which is a program to help children learn their x tables and is for children from Years 1 to 6
IDL, which can be used to improve Maths, Reading and spelling for children who would benefit from extra support.
Phonics Play, which helps children learn to read. This is for children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and some children in Key Stage 2.
The programs enable teachers to see how successfully your child has completed the work set.
All of the tasks for your child will continue to appear on Google Classroom (Years 1 to 6) and Tapestry (Early Years). Children in school will be completing the work set with the support of staff.
Some of the above programs require a username and password. These details have been sent to your child’s google account via email. Instructions on how to find the email are available through the following link:
